GENERAL MANAGER

The General Manager has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the company. He/she is responsible for defining the company’s strategy and ensuring its implementation by defining the organisation and the objectives to be achieved.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

1.Implementing the strategy

Implementing the policy and decisions of the Board of Directors (BoD).

Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy to develop the business.
Carry out diagnostics on the overall situation of the company and define the strategic action plan.
Carrying out strategic organisational planning with the management committee.
Define the priorities and the means to optimise the production tool.
Identify the levers for growth and diversification of activities.
Selecting external consulting firms to provide advice on specialised subjects.
Validate merger and acquisition projects and partnerships.
Validating budgets and investment plans.

2. Operational management of the company

Define actions to implement the strategic action plan.
Develop and monitor the company’s general policy.
Define action plans to develop and increase the company’s potential.
Ensuring compliance with financial management and administration rules and supervising the management of the company’s most important budgets.
Ensuring all obligations related to the function of employer: ensuring the application of and compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual provisions resulting from the Labour Code, the collective agreement and company agreements.
Define the tools for measuring and steering the company’s performance and profitability.
Maintaining the corporate culture and uniting staff around a common project while managing change.
Implementing a risk culture.
Leading the managers of the various departments of the company in the management and steering.

3. Chairing committees and bodies
Representing the company on the board of directors.
Presenting results and performance indicators to the Board of Directors.
Representing the company to investors and shareholders.
Chairing or participating in the Management Committee.
Negotiating and signing company agreements with trade union delegates.

4. External representation

Participating in the development of the company’s image (interviews, conferences, trophies, round tables, etc.).
Represent the company in professional federations and associations.
Representing the company to public authorities.

Profile required:

– English and French required
– Francophone in terms of culture
– Good knowledge of machines and industrial processes
– Very good commercial skills and very good knowledge of distribution networks (modern trade/traditional market)
– Determined and stress resistant person
– Ability to manage important responsibilities
– Good knowledge of the African market (especially confectionery)
